Text: connection you had had with Serbia. As he was keen enough to write to me about it, I would like you to send me a word to tell me clearly in what way you had to do with Serbia, so thaf I can then talk to King Alexander who has become a very dear son to me -- If I can get you this decoration, I shall feel that I am carrying out, after his death, a trust left to me by my "Big Man" as I often used to call him --My Big Man has gone beyond my reach -- but his wishes lie in my heart -- this was one -- explain to me the circumstances so that I can realize it and then it will have come to you from him and not from me, or from us both though he lies in his grave forgotten by most -- I am going to see to it that there should always be flowers on his grave, orange flowers, as I had taught him to love that colour which he considered mine - I fondly trust that his great spirit has flown beyond the need of human care, beyond all grief and trouble -- beyond even the desire of love -- but to me who am still upon earth, it is a satisfaction to do the smallest thing in his name. Please send me an answer about the decoration and tell me also what you are doing with your life -- My heart is open to all those of my Mother's country. Marie
