Local History & Genealogy

The Woodstock Public Library is home to an extensive collection of records dating back to the early 1800s. Access to the collection is available during all public hours. While the collection can be searched using our online catalogue, the listings below offer an outline of the types and scope of documents available.

The Library is unable to undertake research assistance for distance inquiries. If you seek local historical, genealogical information or a copy of a newspaper notice, please connect with the Oxford County Branch of Ontario Ancestors. Their dedicated volunteers can undertake research and retrieve information from their collection and the library's on your behalf for a modest donation.
